Job description
The Ethics and Compliance Manager â Middle East & South Asia will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of Egisâ regional compliance framework, ensuring alignment with both local regulations and international (French/EU) standards. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the companyâs integrity and reputation by embedding ethical behavior, risk management, and compliance best practices throughout operations. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior management, the role involves strategic oversight of compliance systems, proactive risk assessments, policy execution, and employee engagement across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong regional regulatory knowledge, adept at balancing legal rigor with practical business insight.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the ethics and compliance program for the Middle East & South Asia, ensuring consistency with Egis Groupâs global standards and French/EU compliance frameworks.
- Monitor evolving local and regional regulatory developments, interpreting their implications for business operations and recommending policy adjustments.
- Design and implement compliance policies and procedures related to anti-bribery, anti-corruption, data protection, trade compliance, and conflict of interest management.
- Conduct regular training and awareness campaigns to embed a culture of ethics and integrity across all levels of the organization and third-party networks.
- Perform compliance risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and define risk mitigation strategies aligned with group priorities.
- Oversee third-party due diligence processes, including vetting of vendors, partners, and agents to ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Support internal audits, investigations, and disciplinary procedures related to potential compliance breaches, ensuring transparent reporting and appropriate remediation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, HR, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to ensure compliance is embedded into day-to-day business practices.
- Prepare periodic compliance reports for regional management, group headquarters in France, and relevant regulatory authorities.
- Act as the regional point of contact for compliance-related matters, providing expert advice to internal stakeholders and coordinating with external counsel or regulators when needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation and evidence of all compliance activities, investigations, and decisions for audit readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement by developing compliance tools, dashboards, and training modules tailored to regional risks.
- Represent Egis at compliance and industry forums, promoting best practices and reinforcing the organizationâs reputation for ethical conduct.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Law, Business, or related field; Masterâs degree or compliance certification (CCEP, ICA, or equivalent) preferred.
- 8â10 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within multinational or large regional organizations.
- Proven experience managing ethics and compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions (especially UAE, KSA, Qatar, India, and Egypt).
- Comprehensive understanding of regional and international compliance standards, including anti-bribery, corruption, and data protection laws.
- Strong working knowledge of French/EU compliance requirements and international financial institution frameworks.
- Demonstrated success in conducting compliance risk assessments, internal investigations, and due diligence activities.
- Experience delivering training and developing compliance awareness campaigns tailored to diverse employee groups.
- Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to work autonomously while fostering collaboration and alignment across functional teams and geographies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence executive stakeholders across cultural boundaries.
- Fluency in English required; French or Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
