Job description
Masdar is seeking an Operations Manager ā BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) to oversee the operational execution of BESS procurement and supply agreements under the Contracts & Supply Chain Division. The role includes managing manufacturing, testing, inspection, delivery logistics, and financial processes. This position plays a key role in supporting Masdarās clean energy initiatives and global sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities
- Manage the operations of BESS Proc Co, including qualification testing, pre-production test, testing and quality assurance.
- Oversee third-party inspection agencies responsible for testing components to ensure compliance with specifications and performance parameters.
- Manage the production process of technologies purchased by BESS Proc Co.
- Lead the qualification process of suppliers, technologies, and production lines in line with project and corporate standards.
- Monitor manufacturing and transportation schedules.
- Coordinate delivery and storage plans, ensuring timely and accurate logistics.
- Ensure proper BOM material traceability to meet lender requirements.
- Manage financial operations such as opening letters of credit (LCs), coordinating with banks, issuing invoices, following up on payments, and maintaining a positive cash flow.
- Coordinate with Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) on payment processes.
- Manage bonds including advance, performance, and warranty bonds.
- Support technical negotiations for supply agreements to ensure favorable outcomes for the consortium.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in engineering, business administration, finance or related field.
- 6ā8 years of contracts and procurement experience, with 2ā3 years in a managerial role.
- Knowledge of financial, legal, and corporate responsibility matters.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills suited for multifunctional environments.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities.
- Effective prioritization and planning skills, capable of managing a diverse team.
- Customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in supplier negotiation.
