Job description
AIQ, an Abu Dhabi-based industrial artificial intelligence technology company focused on the energy sector and established as a joint venture between Presight (G42) and ADNOC, is seeking an Accounting Specialist on a 1-year contract under a third-party agency to support financial operations. The role focuses on processing payments and financial transactions, managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely procurement of goods and services, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with policies and procedures. The Accounting Specialist will liaise with finance officers and vendors, verify expense reports, reconcile vendor statements, manage vendor communications, prepare ageing reports, and compare system reports to manage Accounts Payable processes effectively. Responsibilities include supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, assisting billing and treasury operations, processing customer invoices, coordinating with stakeholders to resolve billing issues, maintaining supplier records for VAT and Tax purposes, preparing cheques for payment, and handling ad hoc financial tasks. The role requires proficiency in electronic accounting systems such as SAP and Oracle, knowledge of accounting best practices, and experience within technology, oil and gas, or energy industry environments. The Accounting Specialist will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, support financial compliance, and ensure smooth financial operations within a fast-paced industrial AI environment utilizing advanced AI infrastructure, NVIDIA GPU cloud computing platform resources, and enterprise-level financial systems.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Process payments and financial transactions to suppliers while ensuring timely procurement of goods and services and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with policies and procedures
- Liaise with finance officers and suppliers regarding stock management, financial records, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities to ensure smooth financial operations
- Verify expense reports, review invoices, and query invoice discrepancies with internal and external business finance officers to ensure financial accuracy
- Reconcile vendor statements, manage vendor communication, prepare ageing reports, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including VAT and tax requirements
- Communicate with stakeholders across the business, compare system reports, and support Accounts Payable processes and financial transaction tracking
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury processes
- Process customer invoices, coordinate with stakeholders to resolve billing issues, and ensure timely submission of invoices
- Prepare cheques for payment, maintain supplier records, process payments, and perform ad hoc accounting and financial tasks assigned by supervisors
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar discipline with foundational accounting knowledge
- Possess 2–4 years of experience as an accountant handling Accounts Payable, billing, and accounting support activities
- Demonstrate experience working within the Technology Industry with preference for Technology, Oil and Gas, or Energy Industry exposure
- Show proficiency in electronic accounting systems including SAP, Oracle, or similar accounting platforms
- Demonstrate experience managing vendors, customers, stakeholders, and vendor reconciliation processes
- Possess knowledge of accounting best practices including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, and treasury processes
- Demonstrate experience supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures and financial reporting activities
- Show knowledge of VAT compliance, tax documentation, financial record maintenance, and invoice processing within enterprise environments
