Job description
Al-Futtaim Group is hiring a Senior Engineer - Network Operations to lead the architecture, design, implementation, and operation of SD-WAN across its global WAN infrastructure. The role involves ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency in WAN operations, with responsibilities spanning solution design, performance monitoring, automation, and vendor management. The engineer will also provide leadership, mentorship, and align SD-WAN initiatives with organizational goals while maintaining compliance with industry best practices.

Key responsibilities
- Architect and design SD-WAN solutions tailored to organizational requirements.
- Integrate SD-WAN with MPLS, VPNs, and cloud services for seamless connectivity.
- Design and implement robust security measures including encryption, firewalls, and zero-trust architectures.
- Ensure secure connectivity to Azure cloud platforms and SaaS applications.
- Design failover and redundancy mechanisms for business continuity.
- Define and implement SD-WAN policies for traffic routing, QoS, and application performance.
- Monitor and optimize SD-WAN performance, including application prioritization and traffic steering.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams and configurations.
- Optimize costs by reducing reliance on underlay circuits.
- Act as escalation point for resolving complex SD-WAN issues and outages.
- Stay updated on emerging SD-WAN technologies and recommend upgrades.
- Forecast future network requirements and plan for capacity expansion.
- Use SD-WAN analytics to generate reports for stakeholders.
- Implement automation tools and scripts for SD-WAN deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with audit teams to review SD-WAN infrastructure and implement corrective measures.
- Lead critical incident handling for SD-WAN outages or breaches.
- Define the SD-WAN roadmap and align it with business objectives.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to team members.
- Communicate with senior management and vendors to align SD-WAN initiatives with organizational goals.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 12+ years’ experience in enterprise network and security infrastructure.
- At least 4 years’ experience with Cisco SD-WAN design, implementation, and management.
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security.
- Proficiency in routing protocols BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN fabric and controllers.
- Expertise in web security, preferably with Zscaler proxy.
- Experience with SD-WAN cloud on-ramp implementation.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
- Preferred certifications: CCIE R&S, Zscaler Administrator, SD-WAN Architect.
- Experience with global telecommunications providers.
