Job description
The Legal Compliance Advisor will serve as the lead compliance officer for Cignaâs operations in the UAE. This role involves spearheading compliance initiatives, engaging with regulators, and advising internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements and legal risks. The position offers a high level of visibility and collaboration across regional and global teams, including senior and business leadership. The advisor will also have opportunities to contribute to broader MEA regional compliance efforts and cross-functional legal projects.

Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary compliance officer for Cignaâs UAE business operations.
- Lead, shape, and implement compliance strategies aligned with local regulations and company policy.
- Engage and collaborate with UAE regulators, external legal advisors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional teams with compliance guidance on business initiatives and regulatory changes.
- Monitor and interpret relevant laws and regulatory developments in the UAE and MEA region.
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and compliance training programs.
- Work with global and regional legal teams on initiatives impacting MEA markets.
- Support the business in maintaining compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
Experience & skills
- Legal background with knowledge of UAE regulatory requirements (Bachelor's in Law or equivalent expected).
- Experience in legal compliance, preferably within the insurance, healthcare, or financial services sectors.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with regulators and external counsel.
- Strong understanding of regional regulatory landscapes and cross-border compliance issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work in fast-paced, international environments.
