The Consultant / Engagement Manager role in Abu Dhabi focuses on GCC public sector strategy consulting, supporting expansion in government and public sector projects. Responsibilities include breaking down complex problems, planning and executing analysis, identifying core issues, crafting recommendations, leading project teams, managing client interactions, ensuring delivery against tight deadlines, and providing strategic thought leadership. The role demands specialized expertise across economic and social development, governance, fiscal and monetary policies, human capital, tourism, culture and entertainment, and investment promotion, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identify key aspects of problems, and direct junior consultants
- Plan and execute analyses to identify core issues and craft suitable recommendations
- Work side by side with clients and project team members to move projects forward and manage small teams
- Lead project teams through problem-solving processes from hypothesis collection to solution convergence
- Ensure recommendations are practical, sensible, relevant, and cohesive
- Command technical and operational execution details while providing thought leadership
- Forge strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Support expansion in public sector strategy consulting and contribute to team growth and development
Experience & skills
- Degree from a top academic program
- 5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or similar organization
- Experience leading projects in governmental/public sector institutions, ideally in the GCC region
- Track record of leading and managing teams and clients under tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
- Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication skills, including presenting to senior executives
- Willingness to travel
- Arabic language proficiency is a plus
- Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn
