The IT Support Engineer (Ops Tech IT) role at Amazon in the UAE National program is responsible for providing frontline IT support within Operations, Fulfilment Centre, and Logistics environments. The role acts as the ‘face of IT’ for business users, ensuring that IT equipment, infrastructure, and end-user systems operate at optimum performance to support Amazon’s customer-centric operations. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of IT equipment such as Windows, Mac, and Linux-based systems, PCs, thin clients, scanners, Zebra thermal printers, and handheld portable devices used in fulfilment and logistics operations. The engineer is responsible for ensuring high availability of IT infrastructure through proactive and preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, and adherence to Amazon policies and health & safety guidelines. The role includes asset and inventory management, coordination with third-party vendors, contractors, and suppliers, and clear communication of technical issues and operational standards. The engineer supports SLA and KPI compliance, provides technical input into site projects, conducts end-user equipment testing and trials, and assists senior engineers in infrastructure initiatives. The position requires troubleshooting of integrated and interdependent systems, ensuring operational continuity across fulfilment centre IT environments, and working in shift-based schedules. The role contributes directly to operational efficiency, customer experience, and the reliability of IT systems that support Amazon’s fulfilment and logistics network.
