Job description
The Terminal Manager role based in Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates is responsible for managing day-to-day terminal operations involving petroleum and petrochemical products, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operational execution. The role includes oversight of vessel handling, tank storage, pipeline transfers, and truck loading and unloading operations while acting as Loading Master for vessel operations to ensure safe cargo handling. The Terminal Manager is responsible for monitoring terminal equipment, coordinating maintenance activities, maintaining operational uptime, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and operational procedures. The position involves managing inventory control, stock reconciliation, and product quality control while supporting commercial activities including tank utilisation, client servicing, and execution of storage agreements. The role requires coordination with clients, surveyors, shipping agents, and internal teams, along with liaison with HFZA and regulatory authorities for compliance and approvals. The Terminal Manager is accountable for HSSE compliance, conducting safety meetings, operational audits, and emergency response drills while maintaining a zero-incident safety culture. The role includes supervising Shift Supervisors, Operators, and support staff, managing manpower planning, productivity, discipline, operational training, and mentoring. The position requires strong technical knowledge of terminal and tank farm operations, vessel handling, pipeline transfers, commercial awareness, decision-making under operational pressure, and compliance with oil & gas and petrochemical industry regulations while reporting to the Head of Operations or Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day terminal operations including vessel handling, tank storage, pipeline transfers, and truck loading and unloading activities ensuring safe and efficient operational execution
- Act as Loading Master for vessel operations ensuring safe cargo handling, operational coordination, and compliance with terminal operational procedures
- Monitor terminal equipment performance, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure operational uptime and asset utilisation
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, operational procedures, and regulatory compliance standards for petroleum and petrochemical operations
- Manage inventory control, stock reconciliation, and product quality control across terminal storage and handling operations
- Support tank utilisation planning and ensure smooth and timely client servicing for storage and handling requirements
- Coordinate with clients, surveyors, shipping agents, and internal teams to facilitate operational execution and cargo movements
- Assist in execution of storage agreements and operational documentation for terminal clients and commercial activities
- Liaise with HFZA and relevant regulatory authorities for compliance approvals and operational requirements
- Ensure full compliance with HSSE standards and applicable regulatory requirements across terminal operations
- Conduct safety meetings, operational audits, and emergency response drills to maintain operational readiness
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture with focus on zero-incident working environment
- Supervise Shift Supervisors, Operators, and support staff on day-to-day operational activities
- Manage manpower planning, workforce productivity, and operational discipline
- Provide operational training, mentoring, and guidance to terminal staff and operational teams
Experience & skills
- Hold Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred
- Demonstrate minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or terminal operations
- Show demonstrated experience in supervisory or senior operational roles within terminal operations
- Possess strong technical knowledge of terminal and tank farm operations including vessel handling and pipeline transfers
- Demonstrate experience in Loading Master responsibilities and cargo handling operations
- Show prior UAE or free zone terminal operations experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrate knowledge of HSSE standards and regulatory compliance in oil and gas terminal environments
- Show experience managing inventory control, stock reconciliation, and product quality control
- Demonstrate experience coordinating with clients, surveyors, shipping agents, and regulatory authorities
- Demonstrate ability to manage operational teams including Shift Supervisors and Operators
- Show experience in manpower planning, workforce productivity, and operational supervision
- Demonstrate ability to support commercial activities including tank utilisation and storage agreements
