Job description
The Senior Manager, Data Governance is responsible for the planning, design, and execution of ROSHNâs enterprise data governance and data privacy program and initiatives to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the organization. The role establishes and enforces an enterprise data governance and privacy framework for data policies, standards, and practices across departmental, business, and functional areas to achieve consistent data quality and protection aligned to business needs. Core mandates include developing and maintaining data governance and data privacy policies and standards; ensuring policy frameworks are consistently applied across data domains and business units; ensuring compliance with data protection laws and policies; working with data stewards across departments to maintain data quality and responsible data use; implementing data classification and privacy policies company-wide; monitoring data quality and producing standard reports to show progress and current state; maintaining and improving adoption of the data catalogue by ensuring all data products are included, the business KPI glossary is up to date, and lineage is correctly defined; and leading a team of internal data governance specialists and contractors across data governance initiatives. Job-specific skills encompass end-to-end data governance program implementation; in-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations including DAMA, NDMO, GDPR, CCPA, and PDPL; proficiency in data quality implementation (workflow configuration, validation rules, reporting at all organizational levels); project management of data governance and privacy projects (managing cost, timelines, and scope and aligning stakeholders); implementation of data lineage across multiple tools and departments within a data mesh setup; and familiarity with BI concepts and translating business needs into data solutions. - Ensure consistent application of data governance policy frameworks across data domains and business units.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and company data privacy policies.
- Work with data stewards in departments to maintain data quality and ensure responsible use of data resources.
- Implement data classification and privacy policies across the company.
- Monitor data quality and develop standard reports to show progress and current state of data quality.
- Maintain and improve adoption of the data catalogue by including all data products, keeping the business KPI glossary up to date, and ensuring lineage is correctly defined.
- Lead a team of internal data governance specialists and contractors across data governance initiatives.
Experience & skills
- Graduate or Post-graduate with a Computer Science background (or related field), preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of IT experience with 3 years in a similar role.
- Experience implementing end-to-end data governance programs.
- In-depth knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance frameworks such as DAMA, NDMO, GDPR, CCPA, and PDPL.
- Proficiency in data quality implementation including workflow management configuration, data quality validation rules, and data quality reporting across all company levels.
- Ability to manage cost, timelines, and scope of data governance and privacy projects and align with relevant stakeholders.
- Experience implementing data lineage across multiple tools and departments within a data mesh setup.
- Familiarity with BI concepts and the ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
- Ability to work with different data domain teams across multiple functions in the company.
