Job description
The MOE-approved curriculum sits at the core of this Islamic Studies Teacher role at GEMS World Academy in Abu Dhabi, tailored separately for native and non-native Arabic speakers across the school's grade levels. You teach Islamic Studies to a growing school community, delivering lessons that build student appreciation of the Arabic language and Islamic values. Classrooms here need to stay inclusive, supportive, and culturally respectful, since students bring a genuinely diverse range of language and religious backgrounds. Differentiated instructional strategies get developed and applied to meet those different starting points, adjusted lesson by lesson as needed. Student progress gets assessed and reported on regularly, with feedback shared with both students and parents. School events, Islamic celebrations, and Arabic language activities all draw on your participation beyond the regular timetable. Collaboration with other staff runs throughout the role too, aimed at improving the educational experience for every learner in the building. Native and non-native Arabic speakers are both welcome to apply, and prior experience teaching either group counts in your favor.
