Job description
Policy advocacy, private-sector competitiveness, and executive decision-making all depend on intelligence that is accurate and timely, and this Director of Economic Research & Market Intelligence role exists to deliver exactly that. You will lead economic, sectoral, and market intelligence research programs, overseeing macroeconomic, competitiveness, and industry studies across the organization. Economic reports, forecasts, dashboards, and publications get produced under your direction, turning raw economic and market trends into strategic recommendations decision-makers can actually use. Relationships with government entities, research institutions, and key stakeholders need active management, and representing the organization at national and international economic forums comes with the territory. Development and leadership of the Economic Studies and Market Intelligence teams sit within this remit too, not treated as an afterthought. A strong track record in economic research, market intelligence, economic advisory, or public policy is expected, whether that came from Big 4 Economic Advisory, economic consulting firms, chambers of commerce, economic development entities, think tanks, research institutes, or government advisory organizations. Thought leadership matters here, and so does stakeholder management across a wide range of government and private-sector counterparts. Fluency in both English and Arabic is required, given how much of the role runs through direct engagement with local and international stakeholders.
