Job description
The Arabic Speaking Manager - Corporate and International M&A Tax at Grant Thornton UAE will lead and manage teams within the Direct Tax service line, providing strategic tax advisory, compliance, and risk management for corporate and international M&A matters. The role involves applying complex tax concepts to client matters, reviewing business tax returns with international elements, managing tax due diligence assignments for buy-side and sell-side transactions, and consulting on technical and risk-related issues. Responsibilities also include participating in bids and proposals, contributing to business forums, preparing supporting schedules, analyzing international and domestic tax issues, responding to tax authority inquiries, ensuring coordination with other tax teams and international member firms, and demonstrating knowledge of the OECD BEPS Inclusive Framework including Pillars 1 and 2. The manager must be Arabic speaking, proficient in English, and capable of coaching and developing high-performing teams.

- Act as a key point of contact and work with stakeholders to understand business developments, compliance obligations, legislative changes, and potential opportunities
- Oversee corporation tax deliverables within broader projects, ensuring coordination with other tax teams and international member firms
- Manage tax due diligence assignments for buy-side and sell-side transactions, supporting the lead advisory team
- Negotiate fees and ensure timely billing for client engagements
- Prepare supporting schedules based on detailed analysis of underlying documentation
Experience & skills
- 5+ years of related work experience in UAE Corporate tax as well as M&A tax
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
- Professionally qualified (CTA, CA, CPA, ACCA or relevant qualifications)
- Arabic speaking is mandatory
- Strong written and spoken English
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership and coaching skills to develop teams and add true value within the department
- Technically proficient, with strong technical aptitude and commercial awareness, and experience advising clients on complex tax-related issues
- Willingness and ability to work additional hours, as needed, and travel to various client sites
