Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management of the Middle School to ensure high-quality teaching and learning across all subjects
• Ensure effective use of resources and improved standards of student achievement
• Oversee student discipline and pastoral care and liaise with teachers and parents as required
• Manage Middle School budgets and undertake teaching and professional duties
• Work with supervisors, Heads of Department, and coordinators to ensure curriculum continuity and progression
• Promote and uphold the ethos and standards defined by GEMS Core Values
• Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning and provide guidance and support to staff
• Set priorities, targets, and performance expectations for team members
• Act as the first point of contact for Middle School teaching staff regarding student academic and well-being matters
• Lead and contribute to subject self-evaluation processes and implementation of improvement actions
• Ensure effective management of teaching staff, resources, and professional development
• Coordinate professional learning and development initiatives
• Support curriculum enrichment and enhancement of student learning skills
• Contribute beyond standard working hours when required for school events and activities
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding standards and inspection requirements
