Job description
The Senior Project Manager oversees full lifecycle delivery of civil infrastructure and utility design projects within a land development portfolio in the UAE. The role requires end-to-end management from project kick-off through design, execution, and completion, with strict adherence to Mott MacDonald internal controls, project cost, schedule, scope, quality, and project controls. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, reviewing health and safety plans, managing data collection on critical work, mitigating delays, and reporting progress against milestones. The role involves preparing monthly client reports and presentations, managing the complete lifecycle of bids, mentoring staff, reviewing compliance with the Group Management System, and maintaining key internal and external relationships. Required capabilities include managing multidisciplinary infrastructure design projects, understanding UAE building regulations, renewable technologies, smart infrastructure, technical proposal evaluation, constructability, and deployment of relevant technologies. The role also demands competency in Health & Safety and Environmental Protection considerations, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and contractors for safe and efficient project delivery.

Key responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle including kick-off, design, execution, and completion
- Ensure compliance with internal controls regarding project cost, schedule, scope, and quality
- Review and communicate project health and safety plans and ensure safety standards are met
- Collect and manage data on progress of critical work and identify delays or issues
- Report delivery progress against predefined milestones
- Prepare and present monthly project reports to the client
- Manage the full lifecycle of bids and ensure successful bid completion
- Mentor and develop staff while fostering a positive working environment
- Monitor compliance with the Group Management System and report findings
- Build and maintain key relationships with internal teams and external clients
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Master’s in Project or Programme Management is an advantage
- Have prior experience managing infrastructure projects for land development in the Middle East
- Possess experience delivering projects in UAE, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi
- Demonstrate experience managing multidisciplinary infrastructure design projects
- Show solid knowledge of building regulations, renewable technologies, and smart infrastructure
- Be a member of an internationally recognized professional engineering body
- Hold membership in a recognized Project Management Institution (advantageous)
- Have experience with Health & Safety and Environmental Protection in construction
- Demonstrate experience with technical proposals, constructability evaluation, and technology deployment
- Apply a practical, collaborative approach to project management for safe and efficient construction
- Be able to assess situations in a full business ecosystem context
- Continuously seek innovations and improvements in workload and deliverable management
- Use leadership skills to foster relationships and effective working environments
- Be able to manage multiple teams from diverse cultural and geographical backgrounds
