Job description
The Team Leader - Internal Audit at Julphar is responsible for monitoring processes and records in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, applicable laws, industry standards, and company standards to ensure full compliance and operational integrity within the pharmaceutical environment. The role evaluates operations and business transactions to confirm adherence to internal and external standards, verifies the financial status of the organization, and validates operating procedures using a systematic and disciplined audit approach. Responsibilities include developing Risk and Control Matrices, preparing comprehensive Audit Programs, conducting Risk Assessment activities, and raising Audit Recommendations to stakeholders to strengthen Governance and Compliance frameworks. The role supports process owners in understanding, assessing, designing, and documenting Internal Controls to ensure effective control environments aligned with COSO and COBIT frameworks. The position contributes to annual audit processes by performing audit engagement tasks and implementing structured monitoring mechanisms to ensure appropriate Accounting Procedures are applied across the company. The Team Leader ensures compliance with IFRS principles and aligns audit practices with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors. The role requires professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, CA, or CRMA, a bachelorās degree in finance/accounting, and 5 - 8 years of experience within the Pharmaceutical industry or similar relevant sectors, preferably with experience in big audit firms. Proficiency in MS Office and strong English communication skills are required, with Arabic considered an advantage.

Key responsibilities
- Monitor processes and financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, laws, industry standards, and company standards to ensure Governance and Compliance across all business operations.
- Verify financial status and validate operating procedures through systematic Internal Audit methodologies, developing Risk and Control Matrices and comprehensive Audit Programs to assess effectiveness of Internal Controls.
- Conduct Risk Assessment activities and perform audit engagement tasks as part of the annual audit processes, applying a disciplined monitoring approach to strengthen organizational compliance frameworks.
- Raise detailed Audit Recommendations to stakeholders based on audit findings and support process owners in understanding, assessing, designing, and documenting Internal Controls aligned with COSO and COBIT frameworks.
- Ensure proper implementation of Accounting Procedures in compliance with IFRS principles and align audit practices with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Experience & skills
- Obtain a 4 years bachelorās degree in finance/accounting and hold at least one mandatory professional certification including CIA, CPA, ACCA, CA, or CRMA.
- Demonstrate 5 - 8 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry or similar relevant industry, with proven experience in big audit firms considered preferable.
- Possess extensive knowledge of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Exhibit expertise in Internal Control concepts including COSO and COBIT frameworks and demonstrate solid understanding of IFRS principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Maintain proficiency in MS Office and demonstrate fluent verbal and written English communication skills, with fluency in Arabic considered an advantage.
