Job description
Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate is seeking a Sr. Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to support its Asset Development division. This role involves full-spectrum cost management duties including estimating, budgeting, bill of quantities preparation, cost control, variation evaluation, tendering, contract negotiation, and payment certification. The candidate will work across diverse real estate asset classes such as infrastructure, retail, residential, commercial, high-rise, and hospitality. The ideal candidate must have a strong grasp of construction processes, FIDIC contracts, and a track record in client-facing or consultancy quantity surveying roles. UAE experience is required.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Analyse design and prepare cost estimates at various stages
- Prepare Bills of Quantities
- Support provision of Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management Services
- Advise on procurement of projects and consultancy services
- Provide commercial advice to minimize risk and maximize ROI
- Assist with project development feasibility studies and cost benchmarking
- Report on project costs, budgets, risks, and opportunities
- Deliver pre and post contract Quantity Surveying services
- Monitor and ensure project insurance policies are maintained
- Prequalify contractors and consultants
- Prepare RFPs and negotiate agreements
- Prepare tender evaluation reports and selection advice
- Administer consultancy and contractor agreements post-contract
- Prepare payment certificates for consultants, contractors, and suppliers
- Attend project meetings to monitor QS and commercial issues
- Ensure project team awareness of QS and commercial considerations
- Utilize standard form contracts with Group Legal
- Comply with internal AFGRE forms and approval processes
- Serve as service interface between customers and contractors/suppliers
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying
- 7 to 10 years experience in Quantity Surveying, Client or Contractor roles
- Experience in Infrastructure, Retail, Residential, Commercial, High Rise, Hospitality
- Knowledge of FIDIC and other construction contract forms
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Autocad
- Experience with BIM and Revit is advantageous
- UAE experience is a must
- Professional qualification (MRICS, MCIOB) preferred but not required
