Job description
The role focuses on serving as a Senior Static Engineer responsible for the detailed design of packaged equipment ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with engineering codes, standards, and client policies. It involves working within Woodâs Oil, Gas & New Energies business, which delivers large and complex projects across upstream, midstream, onshore, offshore, gas-to-liquids, decarbonization, and electrification markets. Responsibilities include single-point responsibility for all mechanical equipment engineering static design deliverables, input into Technical Work Practices and Standards, planning, scheduling, execution of discipline activities and deliverables, manhour estimating, schedule preparation for bids and tenders, identification of progress or quality concerns, recommendation of corrective actions, participation in internal and external progress meetings, status reporting, and ensuring team competency compliance. The role also includes participation in HAZOP and SIL reviews, preparation of equipment selection reports during CONCEPT and FEED phases, and execution of EPC projects. The position requires strong knowledge of static equipment design and engineering, familiarity with international codes and standards, and ability to take full responsibility as a package engineer for static equipment and packages.

- Take single-point responsibility for all mechanical equipment engineering static design deliverables and ensure conformance with engineering codes, standards, and client policies and procedures
- Provide input to the preparation of Technical Work Practices and Standards to support project execution
- Support planning, scheduling, and execution of discipline activities and deliverables, including manhour estimating and schedule preparation for bid and tender requirements
- Identify areas of concern related to progress or quality and recommend corrective actions to maintain project performance
- Attend weekly internal and external progress meetings and generate status reports for engineering and project management
- Ensure all team members undergo competency assessment and maintain required competency levels in accordance with company and client requirements
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
- Demonstrate strong knowledge in static equipment design and engineering
- Show familiarity with international engineering codes and standards
- Take full responsibility as a package engineer for static equipment and packages
- Participate in HAZOP and SIL reviews and attend relevant workshops
- Provide experience preparing equipment selection reports during CONCEPT and FEED phases
- Exhibit experience in executing EPC projects
