Job description
The Manager - QA/QC in Dubai is responsible for ensuring the application and implementation of Project Quality Plans across construction works. The role involves liaising with contractors and consultants to verify inspection and testing requirements are completed, monitoring overall work quality, and supervising Quality performance. Responsibilities include conducting audits and inspections, reviewing and assessing subcontractor and supplier QA/QC arrangements, participating in project meetings to address quality issues, assisting in quality training to enhance incident prevention, developing and implementing quality initiatives to improve safety culture, reviewing Risk Assessments and Quality Plans, reporting and presenting Quality performance metrics, and ensuring adherence to work permit procedures. The position requires familiarity with international and local safety and environmental standards, ISO 9001, and strong auditing, reporting, and analytical skills.

Key responsibilities
- Ensure application and implementation of Project Quality Plans in construction works
- Liaise with contractors and consultant representatives to fulfill inspection and testing requirements and achieve contractual work quality
- Develop and implement quality initiatives and campaigns to improve safety culture on site
- Assist Director QA/QC in Vendor Tender Review Questionnaire for contractors
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to ensure safe working practices
- Supervise overall quality performance and review Quality KPIs
- Provide regular quality performance reports and monthly statistics to improve quality performance
- Assist in quality training of employees to promote incident prevention and damage control awareness
- Review quality plans, risk assessments, reports, and other documentation submitted by contractors
- Assess subcontractor and supplier QA/QC arrangements for contract compliance
- Participate in project meetings to report quality status and address key quality issues
- Ensure strict adherence to work permit procedures
Experience & skills
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the construction industry
- Degree or diploma in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) or Health and Safety from an accredited university
- Internal/Lead Auditor certification
- Conversant with international safety and environmental standards such as ISO 9001
- Knowledge of local safety and environmental codes and legislation
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong reporting and presentation skills
