Job description
The Manager, Insurance & Benefits at Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi is responsible for shaping and delivering a compelling employee value proposition through innovative benefits programs, with a significant focus on employee benefit insurance. This role involves designing and managing competitive benefits programs aligned with Etihadās Total Rewards philosophy and regional benchmarks, driving automation and efficiency within insurance processes, and collaborating with HR business partners, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and external vendors to ensure compliance, cost-effectiveness, and employee satisfaction. The manager oversees insurance claims, including investigation, approval, negotiation, and settlement, while coordinating with brokers, insurers, and internal stakeholders. Additionally, the role includes analysing claims trends, recommending loss prevention measures, managing cross-functional projects, ensuring policy governance, maintaining intranet content, supporting audits and reporting, and presenting insights to senior leadership to influence strategic decisions. This position requires translating data and insights into actionable narratives that resonate across diverse audiences and contributes to Etihadās strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities
- Design and manage competitive employee benefits programs aligned with Etihadās Total Rewards philosophy and regional benchmarks
- Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within the employee benefit insurance domain in collaboration with HR business partners
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure compliance, cost-effectiveness, and employee satisfaction
- Monitor market trends and regulatory changes and recommend enhancements to existing benefits offerings based on data and analytics
- Oversee the investigation, approval, denial, and settlement of insurance claims, ensuring timely processing and coordination with brokers, insurers, and loss adjusters
- Analyse claims trends and recommend loss prevention measures to mitigate risks
- Manage cross-functional projects with clear timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement
- Ensure governance, documentation, and regular review of benefits policies and procedures in collaboration with the Policies team
- Support audits, reporting, and compliance requirements while maintaining up-to-date intranet content
- Present insights, analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership to influence strategic decisions
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- Masterās degree or certification in employee benefit insurance is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in employee benefits with a strong insurance focus, preferably within large, matrixed organizations
- Proven ability to present to senior leadership and influence strategic decisions
- Exceptional storytelling, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and other reporting tools
- Experience in aviation, hospitality, or global organizations is highly desirable
- Strong analytical, project management, and data interpretation skills
- Demonstrated capability in vendor management and cost optimization
- Ability to design, implement, and oversee complex benefits programs and claims processes
