Job description
The Smart City Project Engineer II at Honeywell is responsible for leading the end-to-end development and implementation of smart city initiatives across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This role involves managing cross-functional projects involving IoT, data analytics, cloud solutions, and emerging technologies in collaboration with municipal authorities, businesses, and technology partners. Responsibilities include planning and executing project timelines, coordinating with city officials and vendors, performing system integration and network troubleshooting, overseeing SIT and UAT phases, and managing data governance. The engineer will analyze data to evaluate smart city outcomes and propose operational improvements. Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in engineering with at least 3 years dedicated to smart city or digitization projects, and be proficient in project management and data analysis tools.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of smart city projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
- Coordinate with municipal authorities, community representatives, and businesses for requirements gathering
- Facilitate meetings and provide project updates to stakeholders throughout the lifecycle
- Design and evaluate smart city solutions including IoT, data analytics, and emerging technologies
- Work with vendors and contractors for system integration and city compliance
- Perform cloud deployments, investigate network issues, and provide technical support
- Oversee System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Analyze data to assess smart city project impacts and implement data governance practices
- Identify operational efficiency improvements and stay updated with smart city trends
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Have 8+ years of industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years in smart city and digitization projects
- Possess strong technical knowledge in smart city systems and technologies
- Demonstrate ability to perform system integration, cloud deployments, and network troubleshooting
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment
- Be proficient in project management and data analysis tools
