Job description
This role acts as the strategic engine of the ICT & Digital Solutions division, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. The Senior Strategist translates departmental strategy into executable initiatives, establishes governance frameworks, drives disciplined performance management, and ensures alignment across Omantelās business units and subsidiaries. The role develops executive dashboards, leads partnership governance, supports major commercial decisions, and provides analytical insights to improve revenue, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes. The position requires deep ICT/telecom commercial understanding, strong financial and strategic acumen, and the ability to influence without formal authority across complex organizational structures.

Key responsibilities
- Translate departmental strategy into prioritized initiatives with clear governance, owners, and timelines.
- Oversee divisional budgets and ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic goals.
- Advise on P&L considerations, financial modelling, and margin/risk trade-offs for large initiatives.
- Define SMART KPIs and lead the development of the divisional performance framework.
- Design executive dashboards and reporting packs for leadership and board-level visibility.
- Track initiative implementation; highlight risks, dependencies, and required corrective actions.
- Conduct performance gap analyses across revenue, operations, and customer metrics.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships, ensuring value realization and pipeline contribution.
- Lead partnership governance reviews and coordinate improvement plans.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Omantel departments and business units.
- Serve as primary liaison to Omantel subsidiaries, ensuring alignment on GTM, delivery, pricing, risk, and financial interfaces.
- Define and maintain RACI structures, boundary clarity, and delivery handover processes.
- Escalate misalignment risks early and recommend governance enhancements.
- Support bid governance, commercial structuring, and solution lifecycle alignment across ICT offerings.
- Develop strategic execution tools (trackers, risk registers, review cycles) to reinforce disciplined delivery.
Experience & skills
- 15+ years of progressive experience in strategic growth roles within telecom, ICT, or related sectors.
- Experience driving high-impact initiatives and overseeing cross-functional or matrixed teams.
- Strong understanding of the ICT commercial lifecycle: solution shaping, bidding, partnerships, pricing, contracting, delivery governance, and revenue realization.
- Advanced ability to create structured roadmaps, KPIs, OKRs, and governance rhythms.
- Experience with performance management frameworks and executive dashboarding.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including value tracking and business case evaluation.
- Stakeholder management across senior leadership, external partners, and subsidiaries.
- Knowledge of partnership governance frameworks and value realization.
- Technical understanding of ICT domain fundamentals.
- Knowledge of bid/BAFO lifecycle and proposal structuring.
- Familiarity with pricing models, contracting standards, and risk controls.
- Proficiency with data-driven reporting tools and management pack creation (Excel, PowerPoint, BI).
