Job description
Severe Asthma, CSWNP, COPD, and Lupus make up the therapy areas this Biologics & Immunology Medical Lead will own within AstraZeneca's new BioPharma Business Unit in Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the KSA BBU Medical Director, you sit as part of the BBU Medical Affairs Leadership team and take on responsibility for deploying and adapting AZ's global and international medical affairs strategy for these conditions locally. You build the therapeutic area medical vision, working closely with the Medical Director to align it with AZ KSA's Vision 2030 ambitions, and lead a growing team of medical affairs professionals, including MSLs and Medical Advisors. Partnerships matter heavily in this role, from key medical institutions and research centres to key external experts, advocacy groups, and Patient Association Groups. Evidence generation sits under your oversight too, covering registries, cohorts, clinical trials, and other studies based on medical, payer, and value evidence needs. Medical compliance processes across the therapy area fall to you as well, with activities expected to run in full compliance with local laws, regulations, and AZ's global and KSA policies and SOPs. On the access side, you represent Medical in Value teams, contribute to Market Access strategy, and support the Key Account Manager on prioritised accounts. Cross-functional brand teams, the Country Access Manager, and the International network all rely on insight you bring back from the field. Local clinical research falls within scope too, from evidence generation planning through participation in local and regional studies.
