Job description
The Associate Director of Financial Planning & Performance at Ooredoo Group is a senior role responsible for evaluating the financial performance and strategic direction of the company's investments across its operating companies (OPCOs). This position plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, valuation, business planning, and reporting functions, and is instrumental in supporting the GCFO and Senior Director with strategic decision-making. The role requires coordination with OPCO CFOs, strategic departments, and finance teams to assess performance, develop financial models, analyze capital expenditures, and prepare materials for internal and external stakeholders including board members and investors. The candidate must be a finance professional with telecom experience and advanced modeling, ERP, and reporting system expertise.

Key responsibilities
- Compile and present monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for OPCOs to senior management and the board.
- Analyze OPCO financial and non-financial performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Initiate and support competitive analysis to contextualize OPCO performance.
- Review and support new business initiatives and purchase orders for group-level approval.
- Collaborate with OPCO Finance teams and channel finance issues to relevant OG teams.
- Coordinate with Strategy on business planning cycles and OPCO KPI targets.
- Lead and manage the group-wide business planning process including long-term valuation and budgeting reviews.
- Support investment accounting deliverables including goodwill impairment evaluations and audit coordination.
- Critically assess business plans against historical and market performance and provide strategic insights.
- Prepare financial and operational analysis for CFO support in management and investor presentations.
- Coordinate and validate Capex business cases and facilitate post-implementation review (PIR) processes.
- Lead cost optimization initiatives as part of the Global Cost Benchmarking project.
- Support M&A-related financial analysis and information requirements.
- Develop and maintain valuation models for financial control, capital markets, and investor relations activities.
- Prepare documentation for board reports, treasury activities, bond/IPO offerings, and special finance projects.
- Build in-depth knowledge of subsidiary regulatory, competitive, and operational environments.
- Ensure high-quality analytics to support sound investment decisions by Group Finance and the Board.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal Group Finance stakeholders.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial investment or analysis, including 4 years in a management role.
- Experience in telecommunications and emerging markets preferred.
- Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook; knowledge of MS Access and Project desirable.
- Strong financial modeling skills including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow modeling.
- Experience with ERP and reporting systems such as Oracle, Cognos, Hyperion.
- Bachelorās degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CMA) or MBA in Finance preferred.
- Fluency in English required.
