Job description
GCAA CAR-21 Subpart J approval sits at the heart of this Manager, Design Office role, with day to day oversight of flydubai's Design Organisation built around keeping that approval intact and the Design Organisation Handbook accurate. You'll manage and support Design Organisation resources through the investigation, development and implementation of Design Changes across the flydubai fleet, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Airworthiness and certification matters fall under your leadership too, with compliance tracked against applicable regulatory requirements throughout every design activity. Open certification programmes get reviewed continuously, checking compliance demonstration activity and resource alignment against established timelines to keep projects on track. Non-conformity investigations raised by the Authority or Independent Monitoring System get supported directly, covering Air Safety Reports, Engineering Safety Reports and Safety Incident reporting. Third party Design Changes and Supplemental Type Certificate implementations get coordinated with Type Certificate holders, Original Equipment Manufacturers and relevant engineering and maintenance stakeholders. Resource plans, training programmes and competency assessments get developed to make sure the team has the capability design and certification work demands. Collaboration with other engineering departments keeps fleet technical actions, Design Change plans and maintenance activities aligned across the business. A bachelor's degree in engineering, or an ICAO Type 2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's License, is required, along with seven to nine years of relevant experience within a GCAA CAR-21 Subpart J or EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organisation, including at least three years holding a Compliance Verification Engineer approval.
