Job description
This role is responsible for owning and growing Thunesâ largest and most strategically important accounts across KSA, including banks, PSPs, wallets, and enterprise fintech clients. The Account Director develops deep, multi-level relationships, acts as a trusted advisor, drives revenue expansion through structured cross-sell and upsell initiatives, and ensures contractual and operational health. The position requires strong commercial acumen, rigorous account planning, and the ability to collaborate across product, compliance, operations, and delivery teams to provide a world-class customer experience.

Key responsibilities
- Ensure satisfaction and retention of key accounts, protecting contractual health and long-term value
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and expand market share
- Identify, structure, and close cross-sell and upsell opportunities
- Act as the primary advocate for client needs internally, ensuring demands and challenges are clearly communicated
- Coordinate with product, sales, compliance, operations, and delivery teams to improve product fit and service quality
- Lead rollout of new services, factoring in market specifics such as regulation and competition
- Take full ownership of customer requests and identify new opportunities to add value
- Maintain best-in-class account management practices rooted in KPIs and structured methodologies
- Ensure accurate, timely CRM updates and internal reporting
- Provide leadership with clear insights on performance, activity, risks, and strategic recommendations
- Build strong working relationships with both internal teams and external clients to enable smooth issue resolution
Experience & skills
- 8+ years of B2B business development or account management experience in an enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience with financial institutions, PSPs, wallets, or fintech enterprises within KSA
- Proven track record of delivering strong commercial performance in the payments sector
- Ability to operationally grow live accounts using structured planning, metrics, and internal coordination
- Demonstrated expertise in customer success management with a KPI and data-driven approach
- Excellent negotiation skills with proven ability to drive commercial value in upsell/cross-sell scenarios
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize across competing demands
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across compliance, legal, treasury, finance, and delivery
- Highly driven, adaptable, and comfortable operating at pace in a rapidly growing environment
- Analytical capability to manage complex reporting, pricing structures, and cost considerations
