Job description
Omantel is hiring a Senior Auditor within its Technology Audit division to independently lead and conduct network infrastructure and cybersecurity audits aligned with its Internal Audit Plan. Based at the companyâs headquarters in Muscat, this role requires expertise in IT and telecom infrastructure, with responsibilities spanning vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, compliance reviews, and report writing. The Senior Auditor will coordinate with business units and IT leaders to assess risk, recommend mitigations, and ensure that Omantel operates within regulatory and security frameworks.

Key responsibilities
- Conduct the assessment of various aspects of Telecom & IT Network Infrastructure Audits including LAN, WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, and other network components in accordance with the Internal Audit plan.
- Lead assessment of network architecture, network configuration, network access checks and security controls of Telecom & IT Networks.
- Conduct Vulnerability Assessment (VA) and Penetration Testing (PT) to identify possible risks and highlight them in Internal Audit reports.
- Coordinate with IT divisions and department heads for audit findings, recommendations and implementations.
- Document implementation activities and work closely with Business Units and department heads for audit follow-up and implementation audits.
- Review and prepare Internal Audit reports ensuring accuracy of findings, clarity of observations, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Review follow-up audit reports and highlight necessary escalations and corrective actions.
- Review compliance monitoring reports for identified areas of gaps, risks and non-compliance impacting Omantelâs financial or operational performance.
- Ensure corrective action requests (CARs) are responded to in a timely manner to eliminate non-conformances and their root causes.
- Lead Compliance Monitoring audits to ensure operations adhere to legal and regulatory frameworks in Oman.
- Highlight gaps, risks, and non-compliance that may lead to financial or operational impacts during Compliance Monitoring audits.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 6 years of experience in IT/Technology audit roles.
- Bachelorâs degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification.
- Proven expertise in conducting IT and telecom network audits independently.
- Experience in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Strong technical knowledge of LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, and network security configurations.
- Experience in audit report writing and documentation.
- Familiarity with compliance monitoring and regulatory frameworks.
- Capability to lead audits and coordinate with multiple internal departments.
