Job description
The Project & Installation Engineer role at Subsea7 provides engineering expertise across global offshore energy projects, supporting project execution, tendering activities, engineering studies, vessel operations, equipment usage, and offshore engineering processes. The role operates within multidisciplinary teams and delivers engineering support to projects across onshore, onsite, and offshore environments. Engineers contribute technical input across subsea and offshore installation disciplines including Subsea IRM, construction, diving, foundations such as piling and jackets, cables and umbilicals, and heavy lift and reel lay installation methods including Reel Lay, J-Lay, and S-Lay. The role requires close collaboration with project management, drawing offices, document control, clients, and suppliers to ensure engineering solutions are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while adhering to offshore operational and risk assessment standards.

Key responsibilities
- Provide engineering support to offshore projects, tendering activities, engineering studies, vessels, and offshore engineering processes
- Deliver installation and project engineering across subsea and offshore disciplines including construction, foundations, cables, umbilicals, and heavy lift operations
- Support multidisciplinary project teams and provide engineering guidance to internal business functions
- Manage interfaces with other engineering disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, clients, and suppliers
- Contribute to planning, risk assessment, and safe execution of offshore operations
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed within time and budget constraints
- Support offshore, onsite, and onshore work scopes as required
- Participate in overseas assignments and offshore rotations as project needs dictate
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate experience within the offshore energy industry across disciplines such as Subsea IRM, construction, diving, foundations, cables, umbilicals, or heavy lift and reel lay installation
- Hold a degree in an engineering discipline such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or similar
- Exhibit a collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrate ability to manage technical interfaces within complex project structures
- Exhibit proven capability to deliver engineering work within time and budget constraints
- Demonstrate working knowledge of offshore operations, planning processes, and risk assessment practices
- Demonstrate willingness to travel and work offshore, including short-term overseas assignments
