Job description
TotalEnergies Refining & Chemicals Arabia seeks a Support Engineer based in AL KHOBAR-AL REZIZA TOWER (Saudi Arabia) to mainly follow up the industrial performance of the SATORP joint venture (with Aramco) and to interface with Headquarters (Paris & Brussels). The role follows and improves SATORP industrial performance analysis, shares Best Company Practices between TotalEnergies and the JV, and, in the context of the construction and future start-up of the Amiral petrochemical plant, facilitates integration of this large petrochemicals activity into performance analysis. The position requires regular trips to the SATORP site (minimum once per month) and begins with several weeks in Europe to learn company culture, operating guidelines, and the One Tech technical expertise organization, understanding the support TotalEnergies can bring to SATORP. Post-role career paths include positions in Europe (HQ Paris or Brussels, One Tech center, or industrial platforms) with growth in technical expertise and/or business/management skills. Duties span HSE participation in on-site safety walkabouts; monitoring SATORP industrial performance; leading analysis of variable costs from a technical perspective (volumes of utilities consumed); monthly reporting of industrial performance for internal reviews; representing SATORP in TotalEnergies technical committees and networks as needed; identifying and promoting best practices bi-directionally between SATORP and TotalEnergies; assisting the SATORP asset manager and Industrial Coordinator with annual Long-Term Plan creation and yearly detailed budget development; proposing and contributing to new developments; and attending quarterly refinery technical committees and ad hoc meetings on shutdowns, studies, and projects. The role also supports petrochemical integration (Amiral project) for performance analysis, aligning activities with the Business Unit RPO context (Refining and Petrochemicals in Africa, Middle East, and Asia), which manages non-operated assets in multicultural environments and aims to be the Partner of Choice in fuels and chemicals while driving growth and energy transition.

- Monitor SATORP’s industrial performance and lead technical analysis of variable costs (e.g., utilities volumes consumed).
- Prepare and submit monthly industrial performance reports for TotalEnergies internal review.
- Represent SATORP, on demand, within TotalEnergies technical committees and networks and communicate outcomes.
- Identify and help share best practices from SATORP to TotalEnergies and from TotalEnergies to SATORP.
- Assist the SATORP asset manager and Industrial Coordinator in establishing the annual Long-Term Plan.
- Assist the SATORP asset manager and Industrial Coordinator in developing the detailed annual budget.
- Propose and contribute to new developments aligned with asset performance and strategy.
- Attend quarterly refinery technical committee meetings and ad hoc sessions on shutdowns, studies, and projects.
- Support integration of the Amiral petrochemical project into SATORP performance analysis processes.
- Coordinate regularly with the Industrial Coordinator and Headquarters to ensure alignment on performance topics.
- Undertake regular monthly travel to the SATORP site to follow up on industrial performance and initiatives.

- Minimum 3 years of experience (position context) and first experience of at least 5 years in Refining/Petrochemical/Oil & Gas (candidate profile).
- Experience in Refining or Oil & Gas/Petrochemical operations with industrial performance follow-up.
- Ability to operate within non-operated joint venture contexts and liaise with Headquarters (Paris & Brussels).
- Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Capability to develop short- to medium-term work activities with strong reporting discipline.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to the SATORP site (minimum once per month) and to spend several initial weeks in Europe for onboarding.
