Job description
ABB 800xA systems running large oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical complexes need retrofits, upgrades and service, and this Al Khobar lead engineer runs those projects. Reporting to the Operations Manager within the SA-OPC Business Line, you lead medium to high complexity DCS projects across all disciplines. Work plans and cost estimates come from you, and deliverables have to land on time and within target cost. Customer requirements are analysed, as-is processes and interfaces documented, and gaps closed through to-be integration designs. Virtualised environments built on ESXi and VMware, RAID configuration, Windows Administration, Active Directory and group policies are part of the technical scope. System and network hardening, McAfee ePO and WSUS shape the cyber security side, alongside managed switches, routers and firewalls. Third party communication over MODBUS and OPC, plus 800xA History and Information Management, round out the system knowledge needed. Testing, installation and commissioning get your technical support on offshore and onshore sites, and the team looks to you for mentoring. Eight to ten years in process automation is required, with a Bachelor's in Instrumentation or Electronics & Communications Engineering, and Advant, Safeguard, Infi90 or SCADAVantage experience is an advantage. The work model is hybrid or on-site, with travel and willingness to relocate overseas expected.
