Job description
The Senior Data Analyst – Finance at Tamara will play a critical role in supporting growth by driving data-informed decision-making across the Payments function. The role involves building actionable dashboards, identifying opportunities for growth, and partnering with data engineering on enrichment initiatives. The analyst will prioritize and execute data projects in coordination with stakeholders across various business functions. Responsibilities include analyzing complex data sets to derive insights, maintaining analytical governance, and enhancing product success metrics. Candidates must have strong experience in SQL and programming languages like Python or R, and be proficient in using visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, or Apache Superset. A background in analytics for finance, risk, or product is highly valued. Experience with machine learning and working in high-growth startups is a plus. The position is based in Riyadh at Tamara, Saudi Arabia’s first fintech unicorn backed by PIF’s Sanabil Investments, SNB Capital, and Checkout.com.

Key responsibilities
- Drive business impact through actionable insights and identifying key opportunities for rapid growth
- Build dashboards that provide accurate and actionable insights
- Work with the data engineering team on the data enrichment needs of the product team
- Work with stakeholders across the business to prioritize projects based on impact and drive delivery
- Develop a process to identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to empower informed decision making for stakeholders
- Ensure governance and be a steward of good analytical practices throughout the process
Experience & skills
- Have 4+ years of experience in data analytics
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or other analytical field
- Have hands-on experience using programming languages such as Python or R to manipulate large data sets for insights
- Demonstrate proficiency in SQL implementations such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Display understanding of the Finance domain or related areas such as Risk or Product
- Possess experience using machine learning tools and techniques in R or Python (preferred)
- Have experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik
- Have experience creating data visualizations and dashboards with Apache Superset (preferred)
- Experience in a high-growth startup or unicorn environment is a bonus
