Job description
The Business Supervision Manager at Standard Chartered in Dubai is responsible for conducting assurance checks related to Private Banking controls in key areas such as Suitability and Sales Assurance, Pricing, and Cross Border compliance. The role involves identifying risks, analyzing trade trends, understanding business needs and system functionalities to perform focused checks. This position supports key projects, monitors policy rollouts related to investment suitability, and collaborates with front office and support functions to ensure control mechanisms are robust while maintaining a strong client experience. The role includes advisory duties on suitability queries and policy guidance, overseeing the appropriateness of investment decisions within Private Banking (DIFC), and managing complaint handling and process updates. The candidate must have knowledge of DIFC regulations, financial markets, governance, and be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills are essential.

Key responsibilities
- Conduct timely assurance checks on Private Bank controls including Suitability and Sales Assurance, Pricing, and Cross Border processes
- Perform focused checks based on identified risks, trade trends, business needs, process rollouts, and system functionalities
- Support key projects related to Suitability and Sales Assurance, Cross Border, and Pricing
- Maintain awareness of new policies and procedures, especially related to Investment Suitability and Cross Border activities
- Collaborate with front office and support teams to ensure effective deployment of robust controls
- Advise Private Banking Front Office on investment trade suitability and internal policies
- Manage Private Bank complaints handling and process operating instructions updates
- Oversee the suitability and appropriateness of investments for Private Bank - DIFC
