Job description
The Executive Director of Master Planning & Design at ROSHN is responsible for shaping and leading the creative vision across the organizationâs development portfolio. Acting as the Chief Architect of ROSHN, this senior leadership role oversees master planning, architecture, interior design, public realm, visualization, and design governance. The position requires balancing ambitious design goals with commercial, regulatory, and delivery imperatives while ensuring alignment with ROSHNâs vision, brand, and design standards.

Key responsibilities
- Issue design briefs for all ROSHN projects and approve final design guidelines for sub-developers and partners.
- Supervise conceptual works for masterplans, architectural assets, and public spaces.
- Maintain creative control and design integrity from concept to completion.
- Preserve approved design intent across all project stages and ensure successful translation into detailed designs.
- Establish governance protocols for design reviews, milestone approvals, and sign-offs.
- Conduct quality reviews to ensure design consistency and compliance with guidelines.
- Oversee preparation of design-related scopes of work and tender packages.
- Guide consultant selection with focus on creative alignment and delivery capability.
- Balance design ambition with cost management and value engineering.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire internal design teams across disciplines.
- Represent ROSHN in discussions with government entities, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders.
- Provide oversight across master planning, architecture, interiors, public realm, visualization, and third-party design reviews.
- Review and introduce design KPIs including quality, satisfaction, and budget adherence.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with development and commercial teams.
Experience & skills
- Masterâs degree in architecture, urban design, urban planning, or related discipline.
- Minimum 25 years of progressive design leadership experience.
- Proven track record delivering master plans and urban design at regional or national scale.
- Experience with high-profile consultants, developers, or government-led transformation programs.
- Demonstrated authority in design briefs and consultant management.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams managing concurrent projects.
- Ability to navigate complex project environments while maintaining design excellence.
- Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong mentoring capability for developing local talent.
- Proven success in delivering at least two major masterplans or buildings from planning through delivery.
- Deep technical knowledge across all planning, design, and delivery phases.
- Experience in design to cost management.
- Strong grasp of regulatory frameworks, commercial considerations, and delivery models.
