Job description
AIQ, a joint venture between Presight and ADNOC, is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee digital transformation and AI-driven projects in the energy sector. The role will focus on leading end-to-end implementation of technology solutions that optimize oil and gas operations, enhance efficiency, and foster innovation. The Technical Project Manager will bridge business and technology, managing delivery in cloud environments with cross-functional teams of data scientists and engineers. The position requires strong expertise in Agile methodologies, stakeholder management, and large-scale project delivery, particularly in AI, big data, and oil & gas technology solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage project implementation plans with clear milestones aligned with scope and objectives.
- Lead end-to-end project delivery using Agile methodologies, from planning through execution and reporting.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including SOWs, technical evaluations, risk registers, and cost/benefit analyses.
- Coordinate with product managers, clients, and partners to prioritize requirements and deliverables.
- Organize and facilitate agile ceremonies, steering committees, and team meetings to expedite delivery.
- Monitor cloud-based product development projects across cross-functional teams of data scientists and engineers.
- Identify and remove delivery obstacles, manage dependencies, and maintain stakeholder expectations.
- Collect and analyze productivity data, coordinate release management, and ensure resource allocation.
- Manage project budgets (CAPEX & OPEX) and contribute to departmental operational planning.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
- Propose process improvements and ensure audit readiness, closing recommendations on time.
- Establish governance structures, define accountabilities, and oversee vendor management.
- Ensure compliance with oil & gas industry safety and regulatory requirements.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Petroleum, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 12+ years of experience, with at least 7–8 years in project management, preferably in oil & gas.
- Completion of at least 3 large-scale technology projects in energy industries.
- Prior experience in AI and Big Data project management.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
- Proficiency in Jira or comparable tools.
- Basic understanding of cloud computing technologies.
- Familiarity with web-based applications.
- On-site oilfield experience in reservoir, production, or drilling preferred.
- Experience with data management and AI solutions strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with oil & gas safety and regulatory frameworks.
