Job description
Live market conditions leave no room for wrong books or latency spikes, and this Engineering Manager owns the technical strategy and architecture for a greenfield trading platform built to handle both. Scope covers the order lifecycle and execution, market data ingestion and distribution, positions and portfolio, settlement and reconciliation, and broker, exchange and market-data integrations. Correctness is protected through idempotency and reconciliation, while latency budgets keep performance predictable. Observability has to be audit-grade, backed by incident response, rigorous testing and controlled releases. Product, Compliance, Risk and Finance are close partners, so regulatory, KYC/AML and audit requirements are built in from the start. Hiring and growing engineers is part of the job. The stack includes TypeScript, Go and PostgreSQL on AWS, private cloud or hybrid infrastructure. Candidates need 8+ years in software engineering, 3+ leading teams and, as a hard requirement, order management, execution, market data or settlement systems shipped to production, with FIX protocol and MENA financial-services experience a plus.

Key responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and architecture for the trading platform
- Design the order lifecycle and execution flows
- Deliver market data ingestion and distribution at production quality
- Oversee positions, portfolio, settlement and reconciliation systems
- Integrate brokers, exchanges and market-data providers
- Enforce idempotency and reconciliation so the books stay correct
- Set latency budgets and manage latency spikes under live market conditions
- Establish audit-grade observability across the platform
- Lead incident response for production issues
- Run rigorous testing and controlled release processes
- Partner with Product, Compliance, Risk and Finance to build in regulatory, KYC/AML and audit requirements
- Hire and grow a high-performing engineering team
Experience & skills
- Bring 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Show 3+ years leading engineering teams, including hiring and developing engineers
- Demonstrate direct experience building or operating online stock trading, brokerage or capital-markets systems
- Prove you have shipped order management, execution, market data or settlement systems to production (hard requirement)
- Understand order types, market data feeds, clearing and settlement, corporate actions and audit requirements in regulated trading
- Apply strong technical judgment on correctness and latency
- Work with AWS, private cloud or hybrid environments
- Code comfortably in TypeScript and Go with PostgreSQL
- Collaborate with Compliance and Risk on regulated financial products
- Move quickly in a greenfield environment without compromising controls
- Offer FIX protocol, exchange connectivity or MENA financial-services experience (nice to have)
