Job description
This role is responsible for leading the strategic technical integration of Smart City systems across major urban development projects. The Senior Technical Engineering Manager ensures that smart services, ICT infrastructure, and power/communications systems are fully aligned with the overarching Smart City vision, sustainability targets, and mobility objectives. The position oversees quality assurance across all smart deliverables, enforces system standardization, ensures regulatory alignment, and drives seamless interoperability across design, engineering, and implementation stages.

Key responsibilities
- Ensure all smart services align with the Smart City master vision, sustainability objectives, and mobility strategies
- Oversee readiness and adequacy of power, ICT, and communications infrastructure for Smart City enablement
- Lead QA/QC for Smart City deliverables prepared by design consultants
- Ensure timely and accurate integration of smart services within all project design packages
- Enforce standardization of smart systems to guarantee interoperability and integration with command-and-control systems
- Assess, document, and report design changes affecting smart services or retrofit requirements
- Coordinate with Smart City teams, ICT consultants, and government authorities for alignment and regulatory compliance
- Monitor and track smart service compliance, issuing structured progress updates
- Ensure alignment and integration between Smart City systems, Digital Twin platforms, and BIM environments
Experience & skills
- Extensive experience in Smart City engineering, ICT systems design, or complex urban development projects
- Strong technical expertise in smart infrastructure, communications networks, and system interoperability
- Proven ability to lead QA/QC processes for smart system deliverables
- Experience coordinating consultants, authorities, and multi-disciplinary project teams
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements for smart systems
- Ability to evaluate design changes and assess retrofit or integration impacts
- Familiarity with BIM and Digital Twin integration principles
- Strong reporting, stakeholder coordination, and project management capabilities
