Job description
The Performance Marketing Executive – Media Buying at Opontia, based in Riyadh, KSA, is a key contributor to the company’s marketing and e-commerce growth strategy, responsible for planning, negotiating, and executing media campaigns that maximize client ROI. This role requires overseeing the purchase of advertising space across a wide array of platforms, ensuring that campaigns reach highly targeted audiences effectively and within budget. The executive will analyze and interpret complex audience data to develop insights for optimal channel selection, budget allocation, and campaign performance. The role also involves continuous monitoring and adjustment of campaigns to respond to changing market trends, media analytics, and consumer behavior. Working closely with clients, internal teams, and media vendors, the executive ensures seamless execution of media strategies, providing detailed reporting, insights, and recommendations that support client objectives and enhance brand visibility. Additionally, the role requires staying current with emerging advertising technologies, digital platforms, and media-buying trends, offering innovative solutions to optimize media effectiveness, reduce costs, and outperform competitors. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are essential to effectively liaise with stakeholders, manage client expectations, and build lasting partnerships. This position combines strategic thinking, technical expertise in media buying, analytical capabilities, and operational execution to deliver measurable marketing impact for Opontia’s e-commerce portfolio across MENAT and CEE regions.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Identify target audiences and organize media campaigns
- Conduct research, compare and negotiate rates, ad space, and airtime
- Optimize plans and budgets with regard to the best media mix
- Sample new platforms and channels to determine effectiveness
- Ensure ads are creative and appropriately displayed
- Monitor costs and return on investment (ROI)
- Report to clients and build long-term relationships
- Research and evaluate audience characteristics, purchasing behavior, and media habits
- Liaise with media owners to ensure accurate statistics, circulation, and viewership data
- Provide media recommendations including timings and cost breakdowns
- Modify media schedules based on latest audience figures
Experience & skills
- Prior working experience as a Media Buyer or similar role
- Experience in digital media preferred
- Knowledge of media buying, planning, and research
- Strong interest in advertising and media trends
- Solid knowledge of media analytics software (e.g., comScore)
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong spoken and written skills in Arabic and English
