Job description
Grant Thornton UAE is hiring a Monitoring Specialist for its Quality & Risk Management (QRM) team in Dubai. The role focuses on monitoring the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the System of Quality Management (ISQM 1), reviewing audit engagements for compliance, and supporting policy development. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in audit quality, strong technical knowledge of IFRS, ISAs, and ethics codes, and experience working in a large professional services firm. This position supports regulatory readiness, provides training, collaborates across departments, and contributes to maintaining the firmās high standards in audit and compliance.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Monitor the implementation and ongoing operation of the System of Quality Management (ISQM 1)
- Conduct regular reviews of audit engagements for policy and regulatory compliance
- Identify areas for improvement and provide quality recommendations to engagement teams
- Assist with development and implementation of quality control policies and procedures
- Support preparation for regulatory inspections and assist the QRM Director with responses
- Deliver training and guidance to audit teams on compliance and quality standards
- Collaborate with other departments for unified quality and risk efforts
- Prepare and present monitoring activity reports to senior management
Experience & skills
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in audit or quality management
- At least 2 years in a monitoring or compliance role
- Experience in a large professional services firm
- Strong knowledge of ISQM 1, IFRS, ISAs, and IESBA Code of Ethics
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Exposure to UAE and international regulators is a plus
