Job description
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at the Laffan Container Terminal (LCT) in RLC Port, ensuring the efficient handling, movement, and storage of containers. Manages Contractor personnel including TOS Operators, STS & RTG Crane Operators, Tractor Drivers, and contracted Stevedore teams. Applies knowledge of shipping logistics, vessel operations, and port management best practices to analyse operational data and reports to identify opportunities for improvement. Leads safety management, troubleshooting of operational problems, and performance reporting while exercising excellent leadership to effectively manage a multinational team and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations. Requires 7ā10 years of experience in port operations with 2ā3 years in a supervisory or leadership role in container terminal operations, plus an internationally recognised maritime qualification or a university degree in Engineering, Logistics and Transport, Maritime Studies, or another relevant subject.

- Manage and coordinate Contractor personnel including TOS Operators, STS & RTG Crane Operators, Tractor Drivers, and Stevedore teams
- Monitor operational performance and analyse data and reports to identify improvement opportunities
- Implement and enforce safety management practices across terminal activities
- Troubleshoot operational problems and ensure timely resolution to maintain service levels
- Direct vessel operations interface to support efficient ship working and turnaround
- Ensure adherence to port management best practices and operational standards
- Prepare and deliver performance reporting for operational governance and oversight
Experience & skills
- Have 7ā10 years of experience in port operations, with at least 2ā3 years in a supervisory or leadership role in container terminal operations
- Have knowledge of shipping logistics, vessel operations, and port management best practices
- Be able to analyse operational data and reports to identify opportunities for improvement
- Have experience in safety management, troubleshooting operational problems, and performance reporting
- Possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a multinational team effectively
- Have strong problemāsolving and decisionāmaking abilities, particularly in highāpressure situations
- Hold an internationally recognised maritime qualification or University Degree in Engineering, Logistics and Transport, Maritime Studies, or another relevant subject
