Job description
The Deputy MSO is responsible for managing the development, maintenance, safety, security, and cleanliness of the school site to ensure facilities are consistently available for school and community use. The role includes overseeing administration and support services, managing staff deployment and recruitment, and ensuring compliance with local government requirements. This position supports the Principal/CEO in delivering the schoolâs strategic objectives, provides financial and operational advice, and drives continuous professional development for staff. The Deputy MSO also plays a key role in implementing sustainability initiatives and maintaining robust performance management systems.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Manage the development, maintenance, safety, security, and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds.
- Ensure school facilities are consistently available for school activities and other users.
- Organize and oversee administration and support services across the school.
- Support recruitment and deployment of high-quality staff in partnership with the Principal/CEO.
- Provide advice and strategic guidance to the Principal/CEO and Senior Leadership on business, financial, and operational matters.
- Implement performance management systems to monitor effectiveness of school operations.
- Ensure staff receive continuous professional development and training to support school goals.
- Lead environmental sustainability initiatives across the school site.
- Support the Principal/CEO in achieving school improvement and strategic business plans.
- Ensure compliance with local government regulations and reporting requirements.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of a BA degree.
- Certificate of School Business Management, Facilities Management, NEBOSH or IOSH preferred.
- Fluent English communication skills (written and oral).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Experience with government compliance and reporting processes.
- Commercial acumen and ability to provide financial/operational advice.
- Supervisory and leadership skills to manage support staff.
- Experience in sustainability and environmental targets is desirable.
- Ability to influence, network, and engage with cultural sensitivity.
