Job description
The Advisor Investment and Financing will lead the financial evaluation, structuring, and execution of renewable energy investments, acquisitions, and financing transactions under OQ Alternative Energy. The role includes developing financial models, valuations, and investment memoranda, managing due diligence and risk assessment, negotiating financing and transaction agreements, and maintaining relationships with financial institutions and investors. This senior role will also guide investment strategy, contribute to capital allocation, and mentor junior team members to build internal capabilities.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee building and retaining capabilities within the Investment and Financing department
- Contribute to the company’s investment strategy and capital allocation
- Work closely with the Business Development team in developing investment strategies for new opportunities
- Lead financial evaluation and analysis of renewable energy projects for potential investment, acquisition, or financing opportunities
- Conduct valuation analysis using different methods and provide insights on key drivers and risk elements
- Lead due diligence processes, risk assessments, and ensure proper risk allocation
- Negotiate transaction documents such as SHA, SPA and ensure execution with risk management
- Present comprehensive investment proposals to decision makers
- Develop and present financial models, valuations, and investment memoranda to support decision-making
- Evaluate investment opportunities and financing options to develop financing strategies aligned with corporate objectives
- Coordinate due diligence processes and ensure risk allocation in financing
- Prepare bank presentations and IMs, engaging with lenders towards financial close
- Negotiate financing agreements and lead process towards financial close
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, ECAs, and other sources of debt financing
- Collaborate internally with Finance, Business Development, Project Delivery, and Legal teams
- Engage externally with specialized contractors, vendors, and suppliers
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Relevant certifications such as CFA are a plus
- 16+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or related financial services with focus on renewable energy and infrastructure
- Robust knowledge of renewable energy project financing structures, market dynamics, and M&A processes
- Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, PowerPoint, and financial software
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects with attention to detail and strategic insight
- Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor junior staff
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
