Job description
The Senior Manager â IT Project Management coordinates and monitors IT projects across QNB Group in Qatar, ensuring they align with strategic objectives, stay on schedule, and adhere to governance standards. Youâll manage budgets and vendor relationships, liaise with stakeholders, drive cost efficiency, and implement project management methodologies. Your role encompasses defining project goals, controlling scope, time, cost, and quality, overseeing multiple large and complex initiatives in parallel, and ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management. Youâll prepare initiation and closure reports, maintain CAPEX documentation, coordinate meetings, and support process improvements, all while safeguarding data confidentiality and upholding QNBâs high professional standards.

- Compare financial data for practice to that of other practices and seek ways to maximize revenue. Manage and achieve revenue goals set for projects
- Implement KPIâs and best practices for Senior Manager, IT Project Management
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent
- Maintain relations with the project recipient for progress reporting and project evaluation
- Continually liaise with the IT Research & Strategy for assigned projects and requirements, with the aim of achieving the Groupâs overall business plan
- Build effective and manage vendors by contractual obligations on both ends
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all other related departments and units to achieve the Groupâs goals/ objectives
- Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required
- Assist customers in all their queries on Bankâs product and seek solution to their requests
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time
- Define project goals to be achieved and measurement methods to track the achievement of the benefits
- Control and monitor project scope, time, cost, and quality in managing competing project requirements
- Handle multiple large and complex projects in parallel
- Effectively follow the Project Management Methodology while managing the projects
- Assist in creating project management methodologies for the implementation of all IT related projects within the Group
- Approve the schedule of projects and work program of each project to be executed as per the budget
- Ensure timely vendor selection/procurement of equipment, hardware, software and various resources for timely completion of projects
- Direct the successful implementation of the project, including the restructuring of business processes and procedures
- Review project design documents prepared by staff consultants and contractors and ensure they meet QNB and regulatory standards
- Monitor the efforts of the project team to accomplish the project plan and take action as needed to resolve issues
- Ensure that quality management is implemented in all IT processes
- Prepare project initiation reports, project closure reports and all other requisite reports on a timely basis
- Report project progress and problems to management on a timely basis
- Maintain an inventory of projects and CAPEX spend including all related documentation
- Prepare documentation, project control and reporting templates
- Participate and support in the set up and running of relevant project/team meetings
- Effectively communicate relevant project/practice information to superiors and peers
- Assist in coordinating project activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, objectives, and timelines
- Maintain accurate project documentation and status reports
- Support effective communication and engagement with project stakeholders
- Organize and schedule project meetings and distribute minutes
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle
- Identify and assess project risks and contribute to mitigation plans
- Contribute to quality reviews and corrective actions for project deliverables
- Support task and resource assignment and monitor adherence to schedules
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and share best practices
- Participate in team and client meetings
- Handle difficult project personnel situations with discretion
- Assess post-implementation efficiency and effectiveness of projects
- Ensure protection and security of project information
- Possess a thorough understanding of the Groupâs IT service offerings and technical direction
- Identify areas for professional development and undertake activities
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements
- Perform role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to manage risks
- Support RCSA, KRI, and incident reporting frameworks
- Maintain data protection and confidentiality of sensitive information

Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Information Technology (Masterâs preferred)
- At least 8 years of relevant experience within a highly rated international bank
- Certification in Project Management (PMI)
- Training courses and certification in systems technology, management and banking
