Job description
Reporting to the ELV Associate Director, the Senior Manager – Electrical Engineering will be a key member of the ELV team, responsible for reviewing consultant design submissions, including concept designs, coordination, documentation, and contract administration, for projects aimed at delivering 6-star property standards. The role covers fire and voice alarm systems, telecommunication services, extra low voltage systems, BMS, and related ELV utilities. The position involves liaising with contractors and authorities, leading design coordination meetings, contributing to technical RFP preparation, ensuring adherence to corporate standards, and supporting value engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities
- Contribute to successful project completion and management by providing technical review services in accordance with project time and quality.
- Lead participation in design progress, design coordination meetings, and workshops.
- Liaise with local authorities.
- Participate in preparation of technical RFPs.
- Review consultant/contractor-designed ELV services such as fire and voice alarm systems, telecommunication services, extra low voltage services, BMS, and other related ELV utility systems.
- Participate in design review meetings and workshops.
- Prepare meeting records, design review reports, and design progress reports.
- Provide input into value engineering exercises.
- Ensure adherence to corporate standards, safety requirements, and QA procedures.
- Maintain, develop, and retain high technical standards through continual professional development.
- Work independently or as part of a team, making proactive decisions and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Maintain affiliation with professional societies to stay updated on current technologies.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Communication, or IT discipline (B.Eng or B.Sc).
- 8+ years of relevant experience in design and delivery of projects within the consulting industry (preferable).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Sound knowledge of design software.
- Experience in design of ICT/ELV engineering including structured cabling systems, data networking, fibre optic infrastructure, WiFi, and various wireless technologies, IT servers.
- Basic understanding of CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm, audio video intercom, public address systems, and their integration across an IT network.
- Good understanding of design and engineering procedures.
- Quality-oriented and strong time management skills.
- Design experience in various types of buildings.
- Assertiveness and aptitude to lead and direct.
- Background in design engineering or hands-on ELV installation.
