Job description
The CP Coordinator role at GEMS Education in Dubai involves strategic and operational leadership of the IB Career-related Programme (CP) for Secondary students. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, delivery, and ongoing development of the CP curriculum, ensuring alignment with IB standards, philosophy, and practices. Responsibilities include managing the CP core componentsâPersonal and Professional Skills (PPS), Reflective Project, Language Development, and Service Learningâwhile integrating CP pathways with the wider Secondary curriculum. The coordinator will track student progress, assessment, and reporting, ensuring high-quality support and intervention, and manage all aspects of IB compliance, documentation, programme evaluation, verification, and authorization processes. This role involves mentoring and developing CP teaching staff through professional learning, guidance, and quality assurance, acting as a key point of contact for students and parents regarding CP pathways and post-16 progression routes. Additionally, the coordinator will establish and maintain external partnerships with vocational providers, universities, and industry partners, contribute to whole-school initiatives, Secondary leadership discussions, and cross-programme collaboration, and promote the CP as a high-quality, aspirational pathway supporting student engagement, retention, and progression. The role requires experience with curriculum leadership, programme management, teaching in international or IB contexts, and the ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse, non-selective school environment. The coordinator will ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent checks.
