Job description
The Senior Sub Project Manager at Siemens Energy is responsible for full technical and project oversight of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) equipment scope within large-scale power and energy infrastructure projects. The role ensures complete accountability for HV equipment engineering, including preparation of equipment specifications, review of test plans, and optimization of equipment design while ensuring compliance with HVDC and Grid Access plant requirements. The position involves mentoring and training team members in component engineering and HVDC technologies while providing technical leadership across complex high-voltage engineering workstreams. The role is responsible for preparing technical and economic tender documentation for high-voltage equipment and providing techno-commercial support to sales and project management teams. The Senior Sub Project Manager evaluates subcontractor technical offers, supports economic assessments during procurement processes, and identifies optimal technical solutions and qualified vendors. The role includes internal project supervision covering timelines, cost control, and quality assurance, as well as active participation in technical decision-making in coordination with project managers. The position requires regular project reporting, milestone tracking, and participation in gate reviews to ensure project alignment. The role includes risk and opportunity identification, performing risk analysis in collaboration with design teams, and developing mitigation strategies. The candidate must have deep knowledge of HVDC and FACTS technologies, insulation coordination, transient stress behavior, fault scenarios, and high-voltage component testing techniques. The role requires strong understanding of applicable norms and standards, experience in large turnkey energy projects, and ability to manage complex customer specifications. The position demands techno-commercial optimization capability, balancing engineering design with commercial constraints while ensuring high-quality project delivery in a multinational, cross-functional environment.
