Job description
The Senior Graphic Designer, Marketing & Events role at Masdar is based at the company’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, within the Brand & Strategic Initiatives business unit under the Marketing & Communication division. Masdar is the UAE’s clean energy champion, established in 2006, operating in over 40 countries, and jointly owned by ADNOC, Mubadala, and TAQA, with ambitious renewable energy and green hydrogen targets for 2030. This role, open exclusively to UAE Nationals, is responsible for developing visually compelling artwork across print, digital, and outdoor media while ensuring strict brand consistency across all marketing materials. The position involves managing end-to-end design projects, conceptualising and producing logos, advertisements, and creative assets for marketing campaigns, events, projects, and initiatives, and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure optimal production quality. The role contributes directly to marketing strategy and event concept development, supports innovation through adoption of new design trends and technologies, maintains organised archives of all design assets, and provides mentorship and creative direction to junior designers. Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, animation, motion graphics, Microsoft Office, bilingual communication in English and Arabic, and deep understanding of UAE culture and design preferences are integral to the role. Key responsibilities
- Create and execute visual designs for print, digital, and outdoor media in alignment with marketing and event objectives
- Develop, implement, and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all marketing and communication materials
- Conceptualize and produce logos, advertisements, and artworks for projects, campaigns, and initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate creative concepts and achieve communication goals
- Manage design projects from concept through completion while adhering to timelines and quality standards
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure optimal execution and production of design work
- Stay current with design trends and emerging technologies and implement innovative creative solutions
- Archive, organize, and manage all design assets including photos, logos, and marketing collateral
- Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and event concepts
- Mentor junior designers and provide creative direction as required
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field
- Possess 8–10 years of professional graphic design experience with a focus on marketing and events
- Demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Flash
- Exhibit strong animation and motion graphics capabilities
- Demonstrate advanced written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic
- Show excellent project management, time management, and prioritization abilities
- Provide proven experience in brand development and brand guideline implementation
- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Demonstrate experience designing for print, digital, and outdoor advertising formats
- Show knowledge of UAE culture and design preferences
- Present an impressive portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects upon shortlisting
