Job description
The Senior Commercial Manager will be part of a large-scale mixed-use development project in Riyadh, envisioned as a global landmark. This role reports to the Procurement, Cost and Commercial Director and is responsible for managing all post-contract commercial activities. Leading a team of approximately 20 professionals, the Senior Commercial Manager ensures accurate reporting, timely decision-making, prevention of schedule slippage and cost overruns, and proper closeout of project phases. This position requires coordination across client teams, consultants, and contractors, supporting the development and implementation of commercial strategy aligned with project goals.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- lead the post contract commercial team to ensure programme objectives are met by managing executed contracts and ensuring services are delivered on time and within budget
- coordinate with client, pmc project managers, consultants, and contractors for timely production of post contract commercial deliverables
- process payments and manage variations and changes
- review claims and produce commercial position reports
- produce regular commercial and cost reports
- manage all claims processes and support client commercial strategy implementation
- update commercial trackers for notices, claims, variations, and early warnings
- prepare close out reports for each project
Experience & skills
- bsc in quantity surveying or master's degree
- minimum 15 years of experience in a similar role
- minimum 10 years of experience in the middle east
- strong knowledge of commercial aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects
- experience managing teams of more than 20 people
- proficiency in ms office and understanding of project management software
- membership in a recognised professional body such as mrics
- experience with international contracting mechanisms including fidic and nce
- fluency in english (written and spoken)
