Job description
The Technical Support Engineer will provide IT infrastructure support across URCās subsidiaries. The role includes system maintenance, server administration, network troubleshooting, policy compliance, and new user onboarding. The engineer is expected to ensure system uptime, recommend and implement emerging technologies, and maintain compliance with hardware and security protocols. The position requires strong technical skills and certification from Microsoft, with Cisco certification as a plus.

Key responsibilities
- Provide support for escalated troubleshooting requirements
- Perform systems maintenance in accordance with industry best practices and company policies
- Automate routine procedures and maintain servers
- Create monitoring reports and logs
- Administer web servers and ensure appropriate server backup and security measures
- Support onboarding of new employees with network and technology setup
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and propose solutions for optimization
- Evaluate new products/solutions to enhance system performance
- Ensure low downtime for networks and services
- Test and evaluate new technologies before deployment
- Conduct system performance analysis and apply tuning techniques
- Monitor compliance with hardware maintenance agreements
- Ensure adherence to security and access policies among users
- Provide input for implementation of hardware policies and support procedures
- Set and achieve yearly performance goals with Line Manager
- Identify and pursue training and development opportunities
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2 ā 5 years of relevant experience
- Microsoft certification required
- Cisco certification preferred
- Written and spoken English required, Arabic an advantage
- Experience in system support in medium to large organizations
