Key responsibilities
- Lead a team of Structural Engineers and designers, delivering offshore structural design calculations and drawings within deadlines.
- Produce, review, and ensure accuracy of detailed calculations, datasheets, and drawings for structural engineering requirements.
- Perform role of Lead Offshore Structural Engineer when required, including estimating, planning, and progress reporting.
- Follow company standards and procedures for scheduling and budgeting.
- Stay up to date with technical developments in offshore structural engineering.
- Develop technical solutions for specific project issues.
- Ensure delivery of project and client targets using sound technical knowledge.
- Use and check engineering software such as STAAD.PRO, SACS, and Matt 3D.
- Support personal and professional development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Wood and Client Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
- Identify and mitigate commercial and technical risks.
- Seek opportunities for department and project improvement and contribute solutions.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Offshore Marine Engineering or similar.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
- Proven core Structural Engineering skills, including design experience in the offshore Oil & Gas sector.
- Experience across project phases including greenfield, brownfield, Pre-FEED, and EPC.
- Self-motivated, proactive, with high achievement drive and initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational awareness and ability to influence colleagues.
- Demonstrated customer focus and ability to balance project and corporate objectives.
