Job description
Mondrian Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Account Director ā Government to lead sales efforts targeting government entities, diplomatic missions, and GCC-based organizations. This role focuses on building key relationships, generating new business, and positioning Mondrian as the preferred luxury hospitality destination for government and GCC clients. It involves strategy development, stakeholder engagement, proposal creation, and coordination with internal teams to ensure service excellence.

- Lead the sales strategy and efforts for government and GCC accounts, ensuring that Mondrian Abu Dhabi becomes the preferred destination for government meetings, conferences, and events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in government organizations, diplomatic missions, and regional businesses within the GCC region.
- Target and engage with high-potential government and GCC accounts to generate new business opportunities.
- Develop and present tailored proposals, ensuring that they meet the specific needs and expectations of each client while showcasing Mondrianās luxurious offerings.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with government entities and GCC clients to ensure both profitability and long-term relationships.
- Coordinate closely with the events, operations, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of government and GCC events and bookings.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and government-related opportunities to stay ahead of industry demands and make informed sales decisions.
- Regularly track sales performance against targets, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure business growth and profitability.
- Participate in high-level meetings, conferences, and events relevant to government and GCC markets to promote Mondrian Abu Dhabiās services.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure that every government and GCC client has a seamless experience, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Stay up to date with local regulations, protocols, and cultural sensitivities within the GCC region to ensure the highest level of service and compliance.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales account management or business development, with at least 3 years focused on government accounts or the GCC region.
- Experience working in a truly global work environment is essential.
- Prior pre-opening experience is highly desirable.
- Proven experience and established network within government and/or GCC-based entities, diplomatic missions, and other relevant organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of government protocols, processes, and decision-making structures within the GCC region.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-lasting relationships with high-level stakeholders.
- Experience in managing large-scale events, conferences, and meetings, especially those related to government clients.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the government sector.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in Arabic being a significant advantage.
- Strong understanding of the hospitality industry, specifically luxury hotels and event management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of hospitality sales and CRM software (e.g., OPERA) is an advantage.
