Job description
The Principal, Product Management ā Technical serves as the Tech Regulatory Resilience Principal within Mastercardās Technology Regulatory Execution (T-Rex) team, operating across the EEMEA region (Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa). This senior leadership position is responsible for ensuring the resilience, compliance, and performance of Mastercardās technology platforms and assets, while promoting operational efficiency, security, and innovation. The role involves close collaboration with Mastercardās internal technology, risk, and regulatory functions to advise and educate regulators, identify and mitigate resiliency gaps, and influence emerging regulatory frameworks. The incumbent will maintain a comprehensive Technology Regulatory Resilience Heatmap across key markets and products, tracking resilience KPIs, identifying risks, and driving continuous improvements in resilience maturity. The Principal acts as a strategic advisor, bridging regulatory and technical domains, translating complex technical concepts into regulatory insights, and vice versa. This position demands a deep understanding of payment systems, software development principles, modern architecture, and regulatory landscapes, as well as the ability to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including government and regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with Technology Regulatory Market Leads and key internal stakeholders to prioritize and deliver T-Rex objectives and the Regulatory Resilience Pipeline.
- Partner with internal teams such as Program Controls, Operations, and Modernization (ProCOM) to identify and resolve technology resiliency and performance issues.
- Represent Mastercard Technologies as a trusted advisor in discussions with regulators, government bodies, and clients, providing strategic input on technology capabilities and resilience.
- Educate and advise regulators and external entities on Mastercardās technology frameworks, systems, and regulatory alignment.
- Influence emerging regulations by providing strategic technical and architectural insights.
- Develop, maintain, and update a Technology Regulatory Resilience Heatmap across EEMEA markets to track KPIs and identify improvement areas.
- Lead risk discovery, mitigation planning, and resilience enhancement efforts in coordination with global technology and compliance teams.
- Leverage modern technology frameworks, tools, and methodologies to ensure resilient architecture and alignment between IT strategy and business objectives.
- Respond to regulatory consultations and manage related technical assessments and solution documentation.
- Monitor, record, and present delivery outcomes and resilience status to executive stakeholders using dashboards and reports.
- Drive continuous improvement in resilience maturity, governance, and risk management processes across Mastercardās technology ecosystem.
Experience & skills
- Proven experience in technology product management, resilience governance, or regulatory engagement within the payments, banking, or financial technology sectors.
- Strong technical background with expertise in software development methodologies, IT strategy, and systems resilience.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor and communicate complex technical information in a regulatory and business context.
- Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, including APIs, Real-Time Payments, and FinTech innovation trends.
- Experience working with geographically distributed, cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to risk and resilience management.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills suitable for executive and regulatory audiences.
